Club of the Month

At Lancaster Insurance, we have worked closely with Sporting Bears for a number of years. We are a huge supporter of the club and wanted to shine a light on the fantastic work they do for charity and show how we can all get involved.

The “Bears”, as they are affectionately known, was formed in 1989, with the primary aim to raise money for children’s charities through their own social, dream rides and touring events, and to support other charitable events.

The main way in which the club fundraises is through offering their famous ‘Dream Rides’ at numerous shows throughout the year. However this year has been different, due to the current climate, and the money raised has been severely impacted.

To help with their efforts, the online event taking place on 14th November, in place of the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with Discovery at the NEC, is in aid of the Club. The day will be a celebration of our classic car community and will also showcase the amazing work of the Sporting Bears and invite enthusiasts to make a donation to the club so it can continue its vital work in supporting UK children’s charities.

Alan Moss, Chairman at Sporting Bears, comments: “This year we, like everybody, have been severely impacted by COVID-19 which has decimated our fund raising, with a knock on effect on the charities we support. We will all miss being at the NEC for the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show but are delighted that Lancaster and Clarion are supporting our efforts at the virtual show on 14th November, continuing the many years of wonderful help we have received.”
