31st July, 2019
We’re thrilled to announce that over 10,000 people attended this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic & Supercars show! On the day, over 2,100 classic, motorsport and supercars were displayed over 36 acres of Sherborne Castle Estate, with 37 car clubs attending.
Dave, Tom, Hugo and Paris manned our stand in the picturesque setting of Sherborne Castle.
On our stand we had the very popular ‘tin-can alley’ game and we were also giving visitors the opportunity to enter our FREE prize draw giveaway to win our Mazda!
If you weren’t at the show and would still like to enter, click here before 10th November 2019 to be in with a chance!
As always there was an incredible collection of cars on display, from some unique Minis to an exceptionally rare Bugatti Diatto AVIO 8C.
Porsche was the main marque feature, supported by Porsche Centre Bournemouth, and the show included an historic line up of cars including race, rally and road cars from 1948 to the present day.
Derek Bell MBE was the celebrity guest in attendance and was reunited with the iconic Le Mans winning 917 and 962 Porsches.
Over 100 Porsches were in attendance from UK and Germany, with many joining in the various tours and parades, Derek Bell and Lee Sibley provided the expert commentary.
Dave Youngs, Car Club Manager at Lancaster Insurance, comments: “It was fantastic to be back as headline sponsor; the atmosphere was electric and the combination of classics and supercars was incredible! We had a few spots on the ‘show radio’ to showcase what Lancaster can offer attendees and it was once again an honour to judge the club awards. There were some tough decisions made as everyone had pulled out all the stops! Congratulations to everyone involved for another successful show!”
This year’s Car Club awards were sponsored by Lancaster Insurance.
Judging was overseen by Dave Youngs and Tom Bletsoe from Lancaster Insurance and they were also presented the awards alongside Derek Bell MBE.
