 Lancaster Insurance, classic car insurance specialist, is thrilled to be supporting a fantastic initiative by Morris Register to encourage younger drivers into the community. The club is loaning a superb 1939 Morris Eight Series E Tourer to a non-member, from March - October 2018, to help spark a lifelong interest in pre-war motoring. 

 The lucky recipient will be notified in early March, with the handover taking place on Sunday 25th March at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC. People can apply for the scheme on the Morris Register Website  and the closing date is 24th February. The criteria includes: 

-          Will be aged 30 - 55
-          Have a clean driving license
-          Use of another car (this car will not be for commuting)
-          Can keep the car at home in a garage
-          Has some experience of older vehicles and will carry out basic maintenance (under our guidance) 
-          Attend a few classic car meetings on the clubs behalf (including the clubs National Rally)
-          Keeps in touch with the club - occasional contributor to the club magazine

The car is all dressed up and ready to go for a summer of exploration! Plus with insurance covered by Lancaster Insurance (T&Cs apply), all you need to do is add the fuel and decide on the destination. Good luck to those who enter!

Car history:

 The car has spent the last twenty years in the ownership of a Morris Register Club member in France and its interesting history reveals that it has been repatriated once before from residence in Europe. It also turns out that the car belonged briefly to well-known motoring writer and journalist, Jon Pressnell in his early teenage years back in the 1970s. Jon has remained a Morris Register Member ever since, and now owns a slightly earlier 1936 Morris Eight two-seater, which also resides in France.

The car was trailered back to the UK at the end of November, taking up residence at the premises of Future Classics in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, where it has been serviced and completed an MOT before it undergoes more fettling and a little light cosmetic work early in the New Year.
