St Ives based Lancaster Insurance has a ball with ‘sweet sixteen’ anniversary

Last month, Lancaster Insurance celebrated its parent company, Markerstudy Group, ‘sweet sixteen’ birthday.

Known for ‘putting the fun into insurance’ the Group’s annual ‘Markerstudy Day’, raised nearly £11,000 in total for charity.

Thousands of Markerstudy Group employees across the country, from Auto Windscreens in Derbyshire to Zenith Insurance in Haywards Heath threw themselves into the spirit of the day.

At Lancaster Insurance in St Ives, staff paid to dress up in prom outfits and throw cream pies at managers, raising around £100 for good causes.

The company made a donation to the Sporting Bears Motor Club, who raise money for children’s charities, and they bought in eight classic and modern cars for staff to enjoy rides in.

The whole group were invited to take part in a charity prize draw, with one lucky employee winning a two-night luxury break to Florence.

It raised around £7,100 for Scannappeal, which helps provide medical equipment to hospitals.

The charity was chosen due to the support Wycombe Hospital has given to Auto Windscreens’ employee Colin Jenkins, during his treatment for prostate cancer.

Andrew Evanson, Senior Operations Managerat Lancaster Insurance, said:  “The idea of a ‘Sweet 16’ theme came from our employees, so it was great to see everyone putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising.

Our annual event is the perfect way to reward our staff for their hard work and raise money for good causes at the same time.

We’d like to say a big thank you to The Sporting Bears, as they helped make the day extra special for us. Quite simply, we all had a ball! ”
