Entries are now being accepted for the Meguiar’s Club Showcase, with the grand final taking place at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, held from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th November at Birmingham’s NEC.
The criteria for entries is that the car must be a pre-2000 model that has won a club organised competition held during 2016, before the closing date on 1st October.
The club event also doesn’t have to be one that Meguiar’s has attended or, contrary to popular belief, a concours car, as Marketing Manager Tom Clarke explains: “The Showcase is not a concours competition but the amazing standard of the cars that have featured over the past eleven years has given the impression it is and therefore some owners rule themselves out before entering.”
“Yes, the cars that appear in the final are always exceptional cars but they are not vehicles that are ornaments, polished rather than driven. In 2015, two of our finalists used their cars as daily drivers and even drove their cars to the NEC to go on the stand.”
Previous winners include Ferraris, a VW Beetle, Ford Cortina, Jaguar Mk2 and in 2015, a 1939 MG TB, owned by Alexander Louden from Country Antrim. To enter this year’s Showcase, contact Tom Clarke by email to tclarke@meguiars.com or by calling 0870 241 6696.
