With this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show only a month away, we’ve caught up with some of the Lancaster team to find out what makes the show so special to them.

First off is Andrew Misseldine, our Car Club team liaison. Andrew has been with us for over 20 years and is a season regular at the show!

How would you describe the show in less than ten words?
Three days of motoring nirvana!

In your opinion, what is the best/most memorable car you’ve seen at the show?
My most memorable/favourite car was the Probe 16, from the film ‘Clockwork Orange’. It looks futuristic but I can tell you from experience that it is not easy to get in and out of!

 In your opinion, what is the best/most memorable stand you’ve seen at the show?
The Panther Car Club’s ‘101 Dalmatians’ theme was a close 2^nd but for me it was the Morris Minor Owners Club’s ‘Dads Army’ stand from 2014, complete with a smoking bomb - AWESOME!

This year’s theme is ‘Heroes and Heroines’, who would be your personal hero/heroine?  
It would be Alex Zanardi, ex-F1 and Indy Car driver. He lost both his legs in a high speed crash in Germany 15 years ago but has just competed at the Rio Paralympics winning two gold medals. He should be an inspiration to us all, he shows that no matter what life throws at us, we can always strive to be the best version of ourselves and never give up.

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s show and what can we expect from the Lancaster stand?
I love the surprise of not knowing what to expect. There is always something new to see and be wowed by. We can expect some amazing cars on the Lancaster stand and a bunch of staff eager to speak to as many car enthusiasts as possible.

If you could drive one car on one road trip, what would it be, where would you go, and who would be in the passenger seat?

Hmm, that’s a tricky one!  It would probably be the windy roads in the Snowdonia National Park. I was there a few months ago with my wife on a family holiday and the roads and scenery are stunning but I was driving our family car, a Vauxhall Insignia, which was very uninspiring! I’d love to go back in a rear-wheel drive Ford, maybe an Escort Mexico or a Capri 3.1 RS and I’d probably take my father as he’s the one solely responsible for my love of cars and I wouldn’t be writing this now without his guidance.  He’s always owned classic cars and took me to many shows from a very young age and encouraged my passion.
